MWC: VIVO Apex: In-screen Fingerprint + Pop-up Selfie Camera.

At CES 2018 VIVO unveiled the world's first in display fingerprint sensor and at MWC 2018 they have taken that idea to the next level. It is the Apex concept Smartphone and now let's take a look and see what it can do.

Now because this is a concept phone VIVO didn't really focus on the specifications or the processor or anything about it. It's really more about what this phone can do, or what this phone has to offer and what potential we see in the future. The first thing you are going to notice is that the front is basically all screen and the bezels are extremely tiny. As the bezels are so small so you don't have room for the traditional stuff that you are used to seeing on a Smartphone like the front facing camera, the proximity sensor or an earpiece. They had to find out a clever way to hide or implement all that stuff. So because it doesn't have an earpiece, it actually uses vibrations that are sent to the glass in order for you to hear audio through the Smartphone when you are making a call or watching a YouTube video. As far as the sensors like the proximity sensor and the ambient light sensor, the proximity sensor is actually cleverly hidden underneath the glass and ambient light sensor has been moved to the very top of the phone.

The coolest part was how they implemented the front-facing camera. It actually pops up at the very top of the phone, shot off like a camera flash on a camera.
It's kind of clever and really looks cool the way that it just slowly creeps up at the top of the phone. So just like the Smartphone that VIVO showed off at CES, the Apex concept also has an in display fingerprint sensor. But instead of a small tiny little target the entire bottom half of the display is a fingerprint sensor and because you have a much larger area to work with, you can actually dual authenticate two fingers at one time. It's a little bit slow however it's a concept phone after all.

The idea behind it is just pretty awesome and going to be really nice to see this in a consumer-ready Smartphone sometime in the future. As far as the phone's design, it is made up of metal and glass so very premium materials. You would be very happy to know that it did come with the headphone jack so that is a good sign.

Overall the Apex concept phone has a lot of really cool stuff that is really exciting for. But what do you guys think about the Apex concept Smartphone, what you like most about it? Let me know down in the comment section below and I would love to hear your thoughts.
