Google Clips: Wireless Smart Camera

Let's talk about Google Clips, it's a $250 smart camera that uses Artificial Intelligence to detect and capture important moments in your life. Now if you are a parent or a pet owner, you're probably familiar with the frustration of trying to capture great candid's of your kid's or pet's activities. Maybe you're familiar with having a ton of photos and videos of your family members, but you're not any one of them because you're always the one behind the camera. Now Google things clips can solve that frustration by providing a camera that can do all of the shooting for you. The clip is a simple automatic point and shoot camera that's similar looking to a go pro, but it's considerably smaller. It has a fixed focus lens, with a 130-degree field of view, a single button, and a few LED but no display. It connects to an iPhone, Google Pixel, or Samsung Galaxy S7 or S8 through Bluetooth or WIFI direct, to download the images it captures and...

MWC: VIVO Apex: In-screen Fingerprint + Pop-up Selfie Camera.

At CES 2018 VIVO unveiled the world's first in display fingerprint sensor and at MWC 2018 they have taken that idea to the next level. It is the Apex concept Smartphone and now let's take a look and see what it can do. Now because this is a concept phone VIVO didn't really focus on the specifications or the processor or anything about it. It's really more about what this phone can do, or what this phone has to offer and what potential we see in the future. The first thing you are going to notice is that the front is basically all screen and the bezels are extremely tiny. As the bezels are so small so you don't have room for the traditional stuff that you are used to seeing on a Smartphone like the front facing camera, the proximity sensor or an earpiece. They had to find out a clever way to hide or implement all that stuff. So because it doesn't have an earpiece, it actually uses vibrations that are sent to the glass in order for you to hear audio thro...

MWC: All new Samsung Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+ with improved cameras, ARmoji and more

We're here ready to take a look at Samsung's latest device, the Samsung Galaxy S9 and tell you everything that it brings to the table considering this is the ninth generation of an already high powered line of Smartphone's. The phone basically looks exactly like the Galaxy S8 from last year except for one major difference. We've been complaining about the placement of the fingerprint scanner of the Galaxy S8 since it came out. So for the Galaxy S9, Samsung fixed it. They moved it from next to the camera, to below the camera which is way easier to reach even on the larger model. Now otherwise they are very similar design. You've got a 5.8-inch display on the S9, 6.2-inch display on the S9 plus. They are still super AMOLED screen, have the same high-resolution displays, curved sides that Samsung calls this infinite display that spills over the edge. You still have the power button and the volume rocker on the side and then, of course, there's the Bixby b...

MWC: Nokia 8110, the banana phone from the Matrix is back

Nokia has re-released the Matrix phone at MWC. They have updated the classic phone from the 90's, the slider, the banana phone for 2018. It now has LTE and has a larger screen but otherwise, it's pretty much the same form factor. This shape is pretty ridiculous in 2018 but it works. There is a ton of nostalgia and have wanted one ever since I saw the Matrix, I love the fact that HMD Global which now makes Nokia phones is bringing it back. HMD says that there are still over a billion people who are using feature phones and they think that through some combination of nostalgia, Nokia's recognizable brand name, and just being one of the few people still making decent feature phones, they can actually get some people to buy this thing. The device is going to sell for under $100. You're going to be able to buy it in May 2018 in Europe. Obviously, the big deal here is the design. It has a curved shape on the outside which is part of what give it the banana phone nic...

How to prevent overheating on your phone.

Does your phone gets warm, and sometimes even hot, when you're using it? That doesn't mean that your phone is ill and needs special attention, or broken or dangerous. Anytime a machine or even a person works hard it's going to give off heat. Most of the time you and your phone enjoy a comfortable temperature and in both cases being warmer than usual is generally not serious and is only temporary. Now let's look at some of the reasons your phone might be warm. Firstly your phone might generate heat when charging and discharging, running applications like gaming, navigation, and streaming media which require more power as they use data and data use is power intensive. Anytime you draw power from the battery it's going to give up the heat and the more power you draw the more heat the battery will give off. Your phone may also get warm when it's working as a Wi-Fi hotspot. Also when you combine activities, for example, navigating and streaming music in the ...

Amazon Go: The world’s most advanced shopping technology, no lines, no checkouts.

4 years ago Amazon started to wonder what would shopping look like if you walk into the store, grab what you want and just go? What if we could weave the most advanced machine learning, computer learning, and Artificial Intelligence into the very fabric of a store so you never have to wait in line. No lines, no checkouts, no registers. Welcome to Amazon Go . Amazon Go is a kind of store where no checkout is required, therefore no cashiers, no lines, and no checkouts.  Just use your Amazon Go app to enter the store. When you enter the store, sign in to the Amazon Go app that generates a QR code which is specific to your Amazon account. Now you can put away your phone and start shopping. As soon as you are in, the cameras start tracking your position within the store. These cameras can also track what you are looking at. It's really that simple. There are sensors in the self which can detect if an item is picked up or not. These same sensors can detect if you place the item...

Google: Artificial Intelligence will be as important as fire!

Google CEO, ' Sundar  Pichai' has high hopes for AI (Artificial Intelligence), so much so that he said this in an interview  "AI is the most important thing humanity is working on, it's more profound that I don't know electricity or fire" . Okay so if that's true that what does that mean for you and me. Artificial Intelligence could potentially have an impact comparable to fire. Imagine this, any computational or knowledge-based work could at least in part be assumed by AI. Just to name a few pharmacy, healthcare diagnosis law even parts of programming all those jobs that have been traditionally high-paying and sought-after will change now, that does not necessarily mean that 30 years from now we won't need human doctors or lawyers or pharmacists, it just means that to be successful in those professions we're going to need to be more than just dispensers of knowledge. You will be expected to excel at aspects of the work that AI does not d...
